1966 PLYMOUTH BELVEDERE II HEMI 4-speed

A Former Feature Car at Mopar Nationals, The Brow is a 1 of 1 Numbers Matching 426 Hemi 4 Speed.

It's 1966 and James Watson Jr. is a hard-working oil rig worker in the Gulf of Mexico. James is rarely home to spend time with his son Rocky Allen Watson. Knowing that Rocky is one of those gear head kids, James decides to buy his son for his 17th birthday the ultimate present. He special orders a bright red Hemi Belvedere from the dealership in Sebring, FL.

James puts $675.34 cash down and finances the rest. A loan for 36 months with a payment of $94.15 a month is a lot of money in 1966 buts it's worth it to him to see the smile on Rocky's face. On March 10th, 1966, James hands the keys to Rocky and says, "don't wreck it."

Rocky now has the fastest, best looking car in all of Central Florida. On Keller Rd. in Fort Meade, the legend of The Brow is born on Friday and Saturday nights. As the kids gather up to Street Race, the new bright red Hemi car was ordered with front bumper guards. Yes, the only 1966 Hemi with bumper guards. As the face of the Hemi car races towards the finish line, everyone sees eyebrows. As Rocky dominates the street racing scene, everyone starts talking about the Hemi with eyebrows or The Brow.

It's not long till Rocky finds himself standing in front of the County Judge for street racing. The Judge takes the car from Rocky, impounds it and takes the title while Rocky is let off of the severe charges. According to Rocky's son Aaron, his dad was not given an option, and the County Judge stole the car from him. Mysteriously the car ends up in Okaloosa County in the garage of the County Commissioner who is friends with the Judge in Sebring, FL. Ferron Campbell has the car for over a decade in Pensacola FL and never titles the car.

Phillip Conklin buys the car from the County Commissioner Ferron from a newspaper ad in 1978. Phillip rarely drives the car and over the next three decades goes to cruise ins with it. In his car club, he makes friends with Ray Rappa, a fellow Mopar buddy. In 2010 they decide to trade The Brow for Ray's 1971 Challenger R/T. Ray, who is in the Florida, Drag Racing Hall of Fame and friends with Big Daddy Don Garlits, adds the car to his collection. In 2011 Ray calls his buddy Ray Barton and Ray Younkin of Strip Master to do a 3 year Ground Up Restoration on The Brow.

At 78 years old and caring for his wife with cancer, Ray Rappa shares his desire to potentially sell the car. Muscle Car hunter and car collector Aaron Boggs hears about it and fly's down to Pensacola FL to meet Ray and see the car. Aaron works to fully document the cars history with Rocky Watsons son and Chrysler Historical Society. A deal is made and the car leaves Florida for the first time in its life and makes its way to the Ohio to join The Boggs Stable.

Today The Brow can be seen at some National Shows and occasionally at a local show in Central OH. Larry Goodin, a Mopar engine expert maintains the car and Hoopeston Jax Wax is the Sponsor of the car for National shows.
